A Māori
incorporation is a structure similar to a company and any land or assets are vested in the
Incorporation. Former land owners become shareholders in the Incorporation rather than
owners in the land.

any time of the day and from anywhere in the
world.

• details of legally adopted children in or out of the family (with adoption order or birth certificate)
• details of whāngai children, either in or out of the family, including the child’s whakapapa and
the extent to which the whānau wish to include the child in the succession
• details of the deceased’s spouse (if any)
• any interests in Māori Incorporations (so the Court can request a search, the Court does not
record shareholdings in any incorporation)...
If you think that you have been
adversely affected by this process and wish to make representations on the application, you must notify the
Court in writing by 4pm on the 1st day of August 2024 and specify brief details of your concerns. The Court
may, if it cannot otherwise address those concerns, order that the application be reheard.
