You do not need to be a registered Pātaka Whenua user in order to search and access
documents for information.
A pūtea trust can:
hold any number of interests from any number of people
have a set group of beneficiaries, including the descendants of any person putting their interests in the trust or for the benefit of the hapū, and
have trustees appointed to manage the interests on behalf of the beneficiaries.
A vesting order can be used to transfer
Māori land shares:
• from one person to another on the sale
or gift of the shares
• to the trustee(s) 6 of the landowners
• from a trustee, or representative, to the
person beneficially entitled to the shares
• to provide a dwelling site for an owner
• between owners to facilitate a partition
of the land.
