For some applications, landowners will need to notify other owners of their application to the Court ahead of time so they can attend hui, support the application, make a payment offer, or object to the application.
It is the exchange of ideas, the recital of whakapapa to make connections, and where challenges can be laid down. At the court hearing or mediation, a Judge or mediator will guide the kōrero about your application.
You can find decisions or judgments of the Māori Appellate Court from 1993 onwards, and the Māori Land Court from 2001, in Pātaka Whenua, or by using our decision finder.
