The South Island Landless Natives Act (SILNA) was passed in 1906 and authorised the transfer of land to Māori.
It has been a busy year for the judges who have worked in the Māori Land Court districts, the Waitangi Tribunal, the Environment Court and the Niue and Cook Island Courts. They have also presented at or engaged in education seminars and conferences on topics relevant to the work of the Court.

It takes its name from the place in the Bay of Islands where it was first signed, on 6 February 1840.
