Whenua tōpū trusts, again a land management trust, which provide for iwi or hapū based
trusts designed to facilitate the use and administration of the land on behalf of a wider class
of owner, normally a whānau, hapū or iwi grouping.
They deliver a comprehensive range of services promoting the retention, use of, and
development of Māori land as a taonga tuku iho by Māori landowners, their whanauand
hapu, and their descendants.
