If you don’t agree with a decision made by the Māori Land Court, you can consider appealing the outcome of your application.
Some guidance on these issues was provided by the Court of Appeal’s recent decision in Clarke v Karaitiana .
This period, called the appeal period, allows for any appeals that may be lodged.

A grant from the Special Aid Fund does not continue for any subsequent appeal or rehearing. For any such appeal or rehearing: (a) Where a lawyer has been appointed on application by a party, a new application must be filed in advance of any appeal or rehearing.
