You do not need to register in Pātaka Whenua to be able to access information or make an application or enquiry.
To assist the Court to process and deal with these proceedings, attach to your notice of intention to appear
a statement setting out your response to each of the claims made by the applicant.

This certification should be filed with an applicationfor succession (when grant of administration held) on form 21,
and replaces Schedule 1 of that form.
This means that wills do not apply, and all legal children are entitled to succeed, equally. The applications are free.
