Seymour, Pauline Ruth McKay, Selwyn Gerald Martin Seymour, Edward James Seymour, and
Caroline Ngawaiata Rowena Power) as to their respective shares, with the other title vested in
the remaining owners.

It is tūrangawaewae – the place where we come from, the place we belong to, the place we stand. Our key purpose is to promote the retention of Māori land in Māori hands, and to support landowners to use, occupy and develop their whenua for the benefit of all landowners, and their whānau and hapū.
The Māori Land Court is conducting an inquiry into the entitled successors of the Toitoi SILNA block as part of the Ngāi Tahu Deed of Settlement. To date, the Court has determined the successors of 125 original owners and are now seeking whakapapa information for the remaining owners from around 1895 who have not yet been succeeded to.

Importantly, it also tells the story of the modern Māori Land Court, who we are, what we do, and what motivates us to provide a high level of service to Māori landowners.
Through them, the wairua of the iwi of Tūranga-nui-a-Kiwa and the other tribes of the district continue to pervade this beautiful space where the tikanga of our entire region’s voyaging, settlement and cultural traditions are on full display for all those who visit to enjoy and appreciate.
