I received a final decision or determination…
If you wish to appeal against a final decision or determination of the Māori Land Court, you can apply to the Māori Appellate Court to under section 58 of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act.
An application to appeal a decision must be submitted within two months of the final decision of the Māori Land Court.
A person may be disqualified from becoming a member if they are:
subject to an order appointing a manager under section 31 of the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1998 ; or a trustee corporation managing the persons' property under section 32 or 33 of this Act
an undischarged bankrupt, or
convicted of crimes punishable by imprisonment for a period of six months or more, unless they have served the sentence or have otherwise suffered the penalty.

The Chief Executive of the Ministry of Justice has authority under section 98M (2) of Te Ture Whenua Māori
Act 1993 to approve mediators.
Where an application is made to review the sealing of the certificate the
date on which that application is disposed of.
(Section 160(7) & (8) of the Act).
16. Once the mortgage has been noted by the Registrar, or a certificate confirming the
mortgage has been issued, your solicitor can register the mortgage against the title to the
land with Land Information New Zealand in the same way that a mortgage would be
registered against General land.
