Where an owner has a life interest or is a joint tenant in Māori Land you can use this form to transfer those interests
to the beneficiaries (remainderman) or the other party to a joint tenancy where the life/joint tenant has passed away,

It was fascinating and sometimes astonishing to hear some of the comments of Chief Justices from context and systems so very different from the system we have.
In summary, key points that emerge from this decision in the context of appointment of trustees are:
the Court is not bound to appoint the highest polling candidates arising out of an election but ordinarily would give substantial weight to the views of the owners as demonstrated by an election;
a nominee with strong support from the owners may be unsuitable through a lack of ability, experience and knowledge or for other reasons.
