CHECKLIST OF DOCUMENTS REQUIRED • Notice of application to trustee of proposed removal • Minutes of meeting consenting to proposed removal of trustee • Key documents supporting reason for proposed removal (ie, evidence of a conviction or an example of reputational harm caused) MĀORI LAND COURT CONTACT DETAILS This applications should be lodged with the Registrar in the District in which some or all of land is located.
The lists of owners have also been brought up to date and the status of Māori freehold land has been clearly identified as such on LINZ’s records.
There is, I think, a lesson in that. Māori Land Court Judges The Māori Land Court bench at present is made up of thirteen judges.
Under cl 15.7.1 of the Ngāi Tahu Deed of Settlement, once satisfied that the list is sufficiently advanced, the Minister of Māori Affairs will apply to the Māori Land Court to call a meeting of successors. Under cl 15.7.5, successors at this hui will consider alternative redress options, alongside determining the status of the land and the manner in which it will be held.
