The purpose of the National Pänui / Te Pänui ä Motu is
to provide notice to interested parties of hearings being
conducted in, and applications received by, the Mäori Land
Court.
Only applications and sittings that were confirmed at the
time of this publication are listed.
Historically, most succession applications were heard by a
Māori Land Court judge.
Now, if your succession application is assessed to be ‘simple
and uncontested’, then it can be decided by a Māori Land
Court registrar without a courtsitting (unless you request to
be heard by a judge in a courtsitting).
