The challenge is to initiate these meetings so that a defunct ahu whenua trust or incorporation can be reactivated.
A review must be lodged within 20 working days after the determination or order is made or, at the satisfaction of a judge, within a longer period.

I congratulate the New Plymouth City Council for their foresight and courage in making the recent decision to create a Māori ward. I hope this is a sign of things to come.
Within te ao Māori, rangatiratanga can embody the authority of a rangatira (a Chief) but importantly also that of the people, being the whānau (family), hapū (sub-tribe) and iwi (tribe).
