Description of reasons for outstanding
applications
The reasons listed below show thecurrent stage of processing ofthe application through the court.
The judiciary and the staff ofthe seven Māori Land Court registries have been working hard to move through the backlog of cases before the Court, there have been new judicial appointments and a host of activity has been undertaken to improve the service provided to Māori landowners.
For some applications, landowners will need to notify other owners of their application to the Court ahead of time so they can attend hui, support the application, make a payment offer, or object to the application.
Importantly, it also tells the story ofthe modern Māori Land Court, who we are, what we do, and what motivates us to provide a high level of service to Māori landowners.
