Gerry was a very knowledgeable kaumatua from Ngāi Tuhoe, was a veteran of the Vietnam war and was a lovely, kind and gentle man and again his death is a great loss. To the ChiefJudge, the DeputyChiefJudge, the Deputy Chair of the Waitangi Tribunal, and all of the Judges of this Honourable.
She was also appointed as an Alternate Environment Court Judge in 2009. ChiefJudge Fox was appointed as the DeputyChiefJudge of the Māori Land Court in 2010, and as the ChiefJudge of the Court in 2023.

Māori Land Court Bench book, made possible by a
judicial team led by DeputyChiefJudge Coxhead and
Judge Stone with the assistance of our legal clerks.
The Court has a ChiefJudge, a DeputyChiefJudge, seven permanent Judges, two temporary and one
acting Judge distributed throughout the country across the Māori Land Court registries.
