21 August 2023 MEDIA STATEMENT Court operating protocols withdrawn; jury trial guidelines modified COVID-19 court operating protocols for all jurisdictions have been withdrawn, and the Jury Trial Protocol and Jury Trial Guidelines have been modified, effective today.
If there is a disagreement about access to the land, there are provisions for an internal review, and for the water service provider or the landowner to appeal to the Māori Land Court.
The court record holds information about current and historic ownership of Māori land, including block and trust information, minutes, and orders.
Where that land is vested in a trust or an incorporation, such an order will only be made with the consent of the trust or management committee, and may be made for a specified period.
