The benefits of an amalgamation are:
the creation of one large block of land with common ownership
it enables the land to be used and managed as one block rather than many
no consent is needed under the Resource Management Act 1991 , and
there’s no requirement for land contributions for roads, reserves or public use or access.
The Court may, on considering your notification, arrange for the application to be set down for a formal hearing
if the application has yet to be determined or for a rehearing if the application has already been determined.

persons may also apply to the court to seek a review of that determination or order.

The Court worked by means of
written applications filed in advance by Māori
people, for example to have title to their land
investigated, to have it partitioned, for relative
ownerships to be determined, for equitable
owners to be added to the title, and so forth.
If the individual owns more shares than are needed for an occupation order of this size, the rest of the shares remain in the block for the use of all the shareholders.
