To finish the evening, all the performers, their friends and whānau joined together to sing the waiata “Tō Aroha”, before ending the night with everyone sharing some delicious kai.

Many landowner journeys begin when a whānau member passes away and their land interests or shares in an incorporation are transferred to their whānau members.
Within te ao Māori, rangatiratanga can embody the authority of a rangatira (a Chief) but importantly also that of the people, being the whānau (family), hapū (sub-tribe) and iwi (tribe).

In 2022, with the adjustment of the rules under the Protection Framework, the Court held a series of special sittings to celebrate the appoint- ment of these three new judges with their whānau, colleagues and friends. All events were auspicious occasions with people travelling from far and wide to attend the sittings.
