Māori freehold land is owned in common in unequal shares. This means that each owner owns each piece of the land in that share.
The Court gives the Trustees control of the Trust Property so that the Trustees can deal with the Trust Property, for the benefit of the Beneficiaries. How the Trustees may hold and deal with the Trust Property is subject to the terms of this Trust.
SUCCESSION The process of transferring the Māori land shares of a deceased person to the persons entitled to receive those shares.
