On 14 December 2022, the Māori Land Court issued its first fully bilingual judgment in both te reo Māori and English.

Hints and Tips • Court staff can’t search for a minute or judgment based on subject. You need to have an application number (post 1999) and/or a proper minute book reference • Where possible – always express your requests using the minute book syntax and its abbreviation.

Ngā Tuku Whakatau a Te Kooti Whenua Māori Māori Land Court Judgment Delivery A guide to the process by which parties to proceedings before the court may obtain information about the status of any reserved decision, and for information relating to outstanding judgments.
If there is sufficient evidence produced to satisfy the Court of the case against you, judgment against you may be given in your absence.
The Court issued its judgment allowing the appeal to proceed, but reasons for that decision are to be provided with the judgment on the substantive appeal: at [5].
