Finding out if you have entitlement for succession If a family member has died and you believe they may have owned interests in Māori land to which you may be entitled to succeed, you can find out about those interests by: • searching the Māori Land Online database.

Use this form to request a confirmed search of interests that may be held in the name of any deceased person who may have interests in Māori Freehold Land.
If an owner with Māori Land interests is deceased, and a succession has not previously been dealt with by the Court or a Registrar, you can use this form to seek a determination from the Court as to those persons entitled to a deceased’s Māori Land interests and an order transferring the interests to those entitled.
