Succession order To legally transfer the land interests of a deceased person to successors, the Māori Land Court issues a succession order 6.
Once the Court is satisfied that we have identified as many successors as possible, the successors will be invited to a meeting of owners to determine how they want to receive and hold the land. The passing of these resolutions will see the land transferred to the successors in the way they decide.
In addition, in accordance with rule 5.11(1)(b)(iii) of the Māori Land Court Rules 2011, a brief summary of the reason why the application has not been finally determined is also provided for each entry.
