2.1 On the block page, look to the top right and under “Actions”, select “Reports”
2.2 You will get this pop-up screen.
In his classic book Māori Land Tenure

of Māori land tenure created by the Native Lands
Act of 1865 was an ‘engine of destruction for
any tribe’s tenure of land, anywhere’ (p 15).

Once you are happy with your username and have answered each security question, make sure

A confirmation page will display. You can click “Login” to access the Pātaka Whenua login page
where you can now enter your username and password to access the portal as a registered user.
Information about whenua is generally held by the district office that is located closest to that land block. You can visit one of our offices to view:
current and historic ownership lists for whenua Māori
minutes of hearings of Court and Registrar decisions
current and historic memorial schedule information recording leases, occupations and other land uses
orders made by the court or a Registrar – including:
title orders (creating Māori land)
trust orders (names of tr...
