Māori Incorporation Register Māori Land Update
Our Māori Land Update is released annually and provides:
the number of customary and freehold titles of Māori land
the number and types of managementstructures and the size of the land they are responsible for managing.
The 1882 statute brought all land used for burial – except urupā – under a common legal structure irrespective of how the land had come to be set aside.

management is responsible for registering
the transfer against the incorporation’s share
registration, but may refuse to register if
they are not satisfied that the transferee is a
