to separate out owner’s shares into new land titles.
Any final terms of trust are subject to confirmation by the Māori Land Court in accordance
with sections 214 or 244 of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993.

Te Kooti Whenua Māori – Māori Land Court (MLC) is the
New Zealand Court that hears matters relating to Māori
land.

all the legal owners agree to the subdivision (where there is no trust)
all the trustees agree to the subdivision (where the land is vested in trustees)
the management committee of a Māori incorporation agrees (where the land is vested in a Māori incorporation)

with the provisions of the Mäori Land Court Rules and they
may not necessarily be listed in this publication.
Māori bodies in addition to Te
Tumu Paeroa (the Māori Trustee), such as Post Settlement Governance Entities and
Māori trusts and incorporations, will be eligible to undertake the role.
