The new Mediation regime establishes a dispute resolution process based on tikanga Māori to assist owners of MāoriLand to resolve disagreements and conflict about their land.
You may use this document to request a waiver, reduction or refund of the fee
prescibed for an application before the MäoriLand Court or Mäori Appellate Court under the MäoriLand Court
Fees Regulations 2013.
(e) If the parties cannot agree on a mediator, then one will be appointed by a Judge
of the MāoriLand Court in the district where the relevant land is located.
Your application will be considered ‘uncontested’ when:
• it has been notified according to the MāoriLand Court
Rules; and
• it has been published in the MāoriLand Court’s National
Pānui; and
• no one has objected to the application.
