Use this form to apply to the Court for a partition of Māori Land or the combined partition of Māori and General Land
to separate out owner’s shares into new land titles.
In 2017, an application was made to the Māori Land Court to determine the
status of the land, the ownership of the land and the relative interests of the owners.
As a result, from time to time the Māori Land Court receives applications to extend existing urupā, or to set aside Māori freehold land, or sometimes General land owned by Māori, as new urupā reservations.
You can use the ownership search option if you know either the owner name, owner ID, block
name, block ID, block district, ownership category, ownership type, or a combination of these.
The
intended amendments are designed to provide
a strong platform for Māori land owners, to
give Māori land owners more autonomy and, if
they so choose, support to realise the economic
potential of their land.
Use this form to apply to the Court for an order vesting part or all of any Māori Land or General Land owned by Māori
in an owner or a person entitled to succeed to an owner for the purpose of a house site or to confirm an existing house
site (including a house that has already been built and is located on the land).
Section 218 of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 contains a list of Māori community purposes to which income may be ap-
plied if provision is made in the trust order.
