WHAT IS THIS FORM FOR?
While individual titles according to shareholding remains the means by which Māori freehold land is administered under Te Ture Whenua MaoriAct 1993, the Act has resulted in an improved approach to Māori aspirations for their land.
Use this form to file an application to the Chief Judge of the Māori Land Court to exercise their power under
section 44 of Te Ture Whenua MāoriAct 1993 to correct a mistake, error or omission on the part of the Court or
in the presentation of the facts of a case to the Court.
Section 218 of Te Ture Whenua MāoriAct 1993 contains a list of Māori community purposes to which income may be ap-
plied if provision is made in the trust order.
The former Chief Judge, Judge Isaac, retired from his role on 30 April, and accordingly Deputy Chief Judge Fox and Deputy Chairperson Judge Reeves have taken up the roles of Acting Chief Judge and Acting Chairperson respectively.
