Te Kooti Whenua Māori – Māori Land Court (MLC) is the
New Zealand Court that hears matters relating to Māori
land.
Use this form when exchanging some or all of your interests in Māori Land by sale or gift with some or all of the Māori
Land interests of a different owner in a different block of Māori Land.
The website also
contains a link to Māori Land Online, a tool
that provides web based information on
the current ownership and title information 1

Te Kooti Whenua Māori – Māori Land Court
You do not need to register in Pātaka Whenua to be able to access information or make an application or enquiry.
Its only purpose is to allow access to property. The Māori Land Court can grant rights of way at the time a title is created with the consent of all landowners at that time.
A mortgage or loan may be acquired by:
the sole owner of a Māori land block
all the owners of a Māori land block acting together
the trustees of a Māori land block who are empowered to raise finance against the block, or
a Māori Incorporation which holds Māori land.
