Māori freehold land has gone through the Māori Land Court (or what was known as the Native Land Court) to be divided into blocks and converted into freehold titles.
They administer Te Ture WhenuaMāori Act 1993, the governing legislation for Māori land, and provide the WhenuaMāori Service to support Māori landowners to explore their aspirations and unlock the potential of their whenua.
