Just to follow on from what I was saying in Maori it really is a great honour and a privilege to be sworn in as a Judge of this honourable Court, alongside such an esteemed bench, in such a revered whare, and in front of so many honourable tohunga, kaumatua, kuia, rangatira, political leaders, senior Counsel, whānaunga and friends. I spent nearly five years at Auckland City Council and then subsequently at the Auckland Council as Deputy General Counsel. I managed a team of lawyers who looked after council’s property, commercial and construction legal work.
