In the application, you’ll need provide proof that:
other owners have been given notice of the creation of the trust
a hui was held, and an agreement was reached
the terms of the trust have been proposed
consent has been given to create the trust or incorporation
the trustees to be appointed have consented to their appointment Committee of Management Members have been nominated.
Regardless of who applies, we will carry out the necessary research to identify and confirm all of the rightful new owners of the land interests or incorporation shares.
This does not
mean a trustee must treat all beneficiaries equally, but all
beneficiaries must be treated in accordance with the terms of
the trust.

Setting up an incorporation
Previously, landowners seeking to form an incorporation
need to show that owners with not less than 15 percent of
shares in the Māori land consented to the proposal.
The purpose of this is to allow those government
agencies to share information and hold consultation with potential owners to enable their informed decision making when it
comes to SILNA land interests.
