The court makes an order, which can be registered with Land information new Zealand. Dwelling sites for Māori under section 296 of the act, the Māori Land court can partition the land to provide an owner with a dwelling site.
If, after five years, the land hasn’t been used as a dwelling site, the MLC may make an order cancelling the dwelling site.
