The purpose of the National Pänui / Te Pänui ä Motu is
to provide notice to interested parties of hearings being
conducted in, and applications received by, the Mäori Land
Court.
• The trustees can only grant a lease or occupation
licence of the land for a term of up to 14 years (including
renewals), unless the lease or occupation licence is for
education, health or papakāinga housing, in which case
there is no time limit

…this particular piece of land for us … it was our papakāinga, it was the pā,
and even today … the reason it’s a campground that is so popular in Golden
Bay in Mōhua is because of the mahinga kai around there, it’s at the river
mouth.
