You can apply from anywhere at any time, using a computer, laptop, tablet, or smart phone. When you register in Pātaka Whenua and create a profile you can begin an application, save your progress, and come back to it later.

When you have located the correct management structure and it is displayed in the Search
results area, click the number in the Organisation ID column to open the management structure
information page.

Once you open the management structure information page, you will find several different sections
including:
• name and ID details,
• a list of organisation members,
• and the originated documents list.
You can also add in any of the
other search criteria information that you know using the provided boxes and drop-down menus.

• When searching a document name with a page range, only enter up to the first
number instead of the full range as some documents may have the range written
differently, e.g. for a minute book reference, you could search 23 Tākitimu MB 233
instead of 23 Tākitimu MB 233-268 to get all documents under that criteria
TIP: The CAPTCHA will display 6 characters as a mix of
letters and numbers. If the sequence is difficult to read
you can click the circular arrow to generate a new one.

Once the status says Completed, click on the report’s reference number in the Task ID column.

You should now see the report information page.

application reference number. Accordingly, some applications appear with both the Pātaka Whenua
application reference and the MLIS reference number.
