The Māori Land Court moved to a new database, Pātaka Whenua, in late May 2023 replacing the Māori Land Information System. All applications were migrated to Pātaka Whenua and given a new application reference number.

Whilst the commission did have hearings in the Kaipara, it was subsequently replaced by the current court of record known as the Native Land Court under the Native Lands Act 1865.
