9.1 This charter was brought into effect at an Annual General Meeting of [NAME OF MARAE] Marae held on [DATE}
upon a majority vote of the trustees and beneficiaries in attendance.
Hei tauira, ka āhei te whakataha i tētahi
wāhanga o te whenua hei papa tākaro, ā,
ko tētahi atu hei whakatūnga marae (ka
whakataha whenua ētahi marae hei urupā).
The intention of setting aside a papakāinga reservation is to provide housing near the marae, particularly for kaumātua and their families, to keep the marae as a living, vibrant centre of the community.
