Busby Ahoy, Whiti Awarau, John

on behalf of Parengarenga 3G Ahu
Whenua Trust)
The benefits of an ahu whenua trust include:
a greater opportunity to use the land
trustees can be appointed to administer and manage the block
owners can participate in meetings and decisions about the direction of the trust
the trust becomes the single point of contact for the block, and
the trust is a legal entity and trustees can set up a bank account to hold any funds for the beneficiaries.
A
composite title is issued to each house owner, comprising: (a) the freehold share
of the lessee in the whole block and (b) the leasehold interest of the lessee in the
individual site.
When the High Court appoints a person to administer the estate of a deceased
person (generally where there is no will or if the will does not name an executor),
the Court’s authority for that person to act is given in a grant of letters of
administration.
