The purpose of the National Pänui / Te Pänui ä Motu is
to provide notice to interested parties of hearings being
conducted in, and applications received by, the Mäori Land
Court.
(i) For the avoidance of doubt, if the parties agree to adopt the ADR process they
must complete Steps 1 and 2 of the ADR process, before the dispute can be
determined by the Court, unless both parties mutually agree in writing to opt out
before completion of the ADR process or there is a need for urgent injunctive
relief by any party to the dispute.
11.
ADDRESSING GRIEVANCES
6.1 If any Trustee or Beneficiary is aggrieved by a decision, action or omission of the
Trustees ("Applicant"), that person may first give written notice of the grievance to the
Trustees.
6.2 If the Applicant's grievance is not satisfactorily addressed within a reasonable period of
time, the Applicant may in writing, notify the Trustees of his or her intention to have his
or her grievance referred to a general meeting of the Beneficiaries.
