Māori Land Court Timely Access to Justice Performance Measures
1. The Māori Land Court plays an important role in helping whānau, hapū and Māori landowners
access and make decisions about their whenua.
Chief Judge Fox was appointed as a Māori Land Court judge on 1 October 2000, and shortly thereafter was appointed as the Presiding Officer of the Waitangi Tribunal’s Central North Island district inquiry in 2001.
This direction is issued pursuant to rule 3.8(1)(b) Māori Land Court Rules 2011 and a
copy is to be sent to the Chief Judge, the Chief Registrar, and the Registrar of the
Waikato Maniapoto District Registry of the Court.
