TAKE NOTICE THAT the following schedule of applications, currently held in the Office of the Chief
Registrar in Wellington, received up to the panui closing date of 11th of May 2023, are hereby
notified, pursuant to rules 3.18, 5.3 and 8.2(3) of the Māori Land Court Rules 2011, as being
outstanding and have yet to be determined or set down for inquiry or report...
The Māori Land Court operates under the provisions of
the Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 (‘the Act’).
The kaupapa of the Act is to promote the retention of
Māori land in the hands of its owners and their whānau
and hapū and to facilitate the occupation, development
and utilisation of that land for the benefit of its owners
and their whānau and hapū.

This practice note applies to the appointment, engagement and payment of the fees of
any lawyer1 per ss 70(3), 98(3) and 98(9)(c) of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 (Act) out
of the Māori Land Court Special Aid Fund (Special Aid Fund).
