If you have a current application in the Māori Land Court which is being delayed by a dispute, you can ask for your application to be put on hold while you go through the dispute resolution process.
You can apply
if you are:
• the owner of the Māori land shares to be transferred
• the person who will receive the Māori land shares
• a trustee for either of the people mentioned above.
The applicant, or counsel for the applicant, must sign the
application for the vesting order.
Accessing Pātaka Whenua
Step 1
In your web browser, visit the Māori Land Court website www.māorilandcourt.govt.nz and click
the green tab in the top right area labelled “Pātaka Whenua – our online portal”.

In the Pātaka Whenua portal, use the menu on the left side of the screen to click “Search”.
The Court may, on considering your notification, arrange for the application to be set down for a formal hearing
if the application has yet to be determined or for a rehearing if the application has already been determined.
