Where an owner has a life interest or is a joint tenant in Māori Land you can use this form to transfer those interests to the beneficiaries (remainderman) or the other party to a joint tenancy where the life/joint tenant has passed away, wishes to surrender their interests or the life tenant has remarried or entered into a civil union or de facto relationship.

Māori land can be brought together or divided among its owners in several ways to be managed, developed, or used.
That process was outside of the marae and a decision had to be made to provide finality. If the iwi come to a Court for a resolution, then in my view it is incumbent on us to make a decision, as the parties have ended up in Court, fully cognisant that by being there, the ultimate decision is no longer theirs to be made, and that it is now a matter for the Court to decide.
