Abbreviations
What follows are the abbreviations in use by the
Māori Land Court which is listed by District Office.
When requesting minutes (or orders generated from
those minutes) it is important to use the syntax
adopted by the Court.
This is in
case an appeal is lodged against the judge’s decision.
The order will be written up in the Court title records if it
affects land, and sent to every person who has to act on it,
for example, to the Māori trustee if they’ve been ordered to
pay money they’re holding, or a Māori incorporation5 if the
order affects shares in that incorporation.
THIS EXAMPLE HAS BEEN PREPARED TO INFORM PERSONS WHO SEEK AN
OCCUPATION ORDER OF THE TERMS THAT MAY BE GRANTED BY THE COURT IF THE
APPLICATION FOR AN OCCUPATION ORDER IS SUCCESSFUL.
