of the reason why the application has not been finally determined is also provided for each entry.

Rule 5.11(2)(b) of the Māori Land Court Rules 2011 states that a report must be produced and made available to the public of all applications filed in the Māori Land Court that are six months or older and where a final decision has not yet been made on that application.

Most of the record is available to the public for viewing in hard copy. Information about whenua is generally held by the district office that is located closest to that land block.
Notice can be given by:
• placing a public notice in a newspaper in the district nearest the whenua
• writing a letter or sending an email to as many landowners as possible
• broadcasting on Māori and local radio stations and posting to community notice boards
• posting on social media used by your whānau.
