Whilst MLIS has helped make information on land more accessible it has not gone far enough in terms of the information about the title and the owners that is available on this system.
The determination is required under the terms set out in Clause 15.6.2 of the Ngāi Tahu Deed of
Settlement where the determination is decided by the Court as though the lands were Māori lands and in accordance with
section 109 Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 as though the deceased left no will.
Following the initial success of a fixed term FTE over a 12-month period, a further 2.0 permanent FTE and an additional 6-month fixed term FTE have been added to the team.
