Dispute resolution
7.1 If disputes or disagreements arise about:
7.1.1 Conflicts of interest;
7.1.2 Allegations about trustee misconduct;
7.1.3 The performance of a trustees or trustees;
7.1.4 The practice of tikanga and/or kawa at the marae; or
7.1.5 Interpretation of this charter;
they shall be communicated in writing to the secretary.
7.2 The secretary shall acknowledge receipt of the communication within 7 days and shall refer the communication
to the trustees at their next...

(iii) an owner in that land who is a member of the hapū associated with the land, or
(iv) a trustee of any person who qualifies under any of the above 3 requirements, or
(v) whänaunga of that owner who are associated in accordance with tikanga Māori with that land.
In completing the whakapapa form to accompany the application a party to the exchange should clearly indicate how he or she qualifies to receive shares under the
above provisions.

The district office is actively engaging in Te Reo
and Tikanga activities, expanding on our weekly
karakia and waiata sessions.
These people can be:
• the owner’s children or direct descendants
• any whanaunga of the owner who, in accordance with
tikanga Māori9, are associated with the land
• the other beneficial owners10 of shares in the same land
who are members of the hapū associated with that land
• the trustees for any of the people referred to above
• anyone descended from a former owner of the land who is,
or was, a member of the hapū associated with that land.
These people can be:
