MĀORI LAND COURT CONTACT DETAILS
Applications should be lodged with the Registrar in the Māori Land Court District in which som...
Here an individual can form the trust and appoint trustees and the shareholding, which maybe across many blocks, is held for the uri of that individual down through the generations.
The following evidence of support for the application is attached:
copy of trustees’ consents are attached. (if applicable)
copy of consent of committee of management of the Māori Incorporation is attached.
The members of the trust or 'trustees' are appointed to make decisions that protect the whenua and benefit all landowners, also known as 'beneficiaries' of the trust.
These changes include making it easier for landowners to establish Māori incorporations,
and provisions for removing a trustee or a member of a committee of management of an
incorporation have been updated.
The order will be written up in the Court title records if it
affects land, and sent to every person who has to act on it,
for example, to the Māori trustee if they’ve been ordered to
pay money they’re holding, or a Māori incorporation5 if the
order affects shares in that incorporation.
