TAKE NOTICE THAT the following schedule of applications are hereby notified pursuant to rule
5.11(2)(b) of the Māori Land Court Rules 2011 being applications which are 6 months or older as at 30
November 2022, and which are currently held by the Registrar in the District set out, or, in the case of
applications to the Chief Judge of Māori Land Court...
Step 1
1.1 After logging into Pātaka Whenua as a registered user, on the left side click “Search” then “Block” – this will
take you to the Block Search
1.2 In the “Block Name” field, start typing the name of the block.
In 2003, realising that there was only one uncle and one aunty still alive, something needed to be done. After Part 4 searches had been carried out at the Māori Land Court I learnt that in 1967 an uncle of mine had appeared at the Māori Land Court and had succeeded to some interests in the name of his mother and father (my grandparents).
Changes also strengthen the protections for Māori land. For example, when whenua is
changed from Māori customary land to Māori freehold land, the interests of the owners
will not be individualised.
