For all types, you only need to make one application for succession to include all whānau. Individual whānau members do not need to file separate applications.

Currently, the land is effectively held in trust until the owners can receive the land. There are 308 original owners.
Those entitled to succeed do not wish to form a whānau trust. Those entitled to succeed have conferred and wish to vest the interests of the deceased into a whānau trust.
